Mumbai: BMC officials reportedly arrived at The Habitat studio in Khar's Unicontinental Studio in Mumbai on Monday, March 24. Several videos surfaced online which featured the officials carrying hammers in their hands.
This comes after comedian Kunal Kamra made remarks against Maharashtra Deputy CM Eknath Shinde during a stand-up act, referring to him as a 'traitor' while referencing the song 'Dil To Pagal Hai.'
A viral video of his remarks angered Shiv Sena (Shinde) supporters. In retaliation, party workers stormed The Unicontinental Mumbai and vandalised the Habitat Club in Khar West.
An FIR was filed against Shiv Sena Yuva Sena (Shinde) leader Rahul Kanal and 19 others for ransacking the venue. They were charged under the BNS and Maharashtra Police Act include rioting, intimidation, unlawful assembly, and obstructing government work. Police have named 30 to 40 party workers and applied 13 sections against them.
