Kamothe Colony Forum (KCF), a group of residents, has demanded that the paid parking system at Khandeshwar railway station should be stopped immediately. They alleged that the CIDCO has started a paid parking system without developing the parking lot at the station.

Residents delegation met the Superintending Engineer of the CIDCO Railway Project and submitted a letter regarding their demand.

According to KCF, CIDCO has allegedly cheated them by constructing houses under the Prime Minister's Housing Scheme on the land reserved for parking and bus terminals in front of Khandeshwar and Mansarovar railway stations. Despite their repeated protests, the project was continued. They say that there is huge dissatisfaction in the minds of the citizens.

“While constructing these buildings, there is no space left for parking of two-wheelers and four-wheelers coming to the railway station. Therefore, passengers have to cross the road to park their vehicles,” said Mangesh Adhav of KCF. He added that CIDCO has started paid parking services outside Khandeshwar railway station even without developing a proper parking lot.

“Due to a large amount of mud in the parking area, motorcycles are slipping and accidents are taking place. Also, people have to park and walk through the mud to the station,” said Adhav, adding that if the paid parking at Khandeshwar railway station is not closed immediately, they will resort to agitation. On the occasion, Ranjana Sadolikar, Bapu Salunkhe, Rahul Budhe, Arun Jadhav and Shubhangi Kharat of KCF were present.
