India Post Releases Stamp Honouring Businessman and Philanthropist Purshottamdas H. Purohit

A commemorative postage stamp on Purshottamdas Purohit was released to immortalize him as a businessman, social leader, and patriot -now through a postage stamp. This stamp was issued by the Department of Post (GOI) and released by the Governor of Rajasthan, Haribhau Bagade, on Saturday, 02 August, 2025, in Mumbai. This postage stamp is available all over India and is the first postage stamp of the Rajpurohit Brahmin community. Mr. Purohit, a simple 10-year-old boy from Rajasthan whose journey concluded in establishing the Adarsh Group of Hotels chain in Kalbadevi, Mumbai, and many projects for the betterment of the society. A soft launch of the book cover “Adarsh Manav: Purshottamdas Purohit,” a biography of his struggle that is penned by Mr. Jagdish Purohit of Indiapress, was also unveiled during the occasion.
This program was graced by Maharashtra Assembly Speaker Mr. Rahul Narwekar, former Union Minister of State for Finance Dr. Bhagwat Karad, former Maharashtra Minister of State for Housing Mr. Raj K. Purohit, Congress Party senior leader Mr. Bhanwarsingh Rajpurohit, and Mrs. Suchita Joshi, Post Master General (Navi Mumbai), who handed over the stamp to the Hon’ble Governor.
Trustees of P. H. Purohit (Rawatsingh) Charitable Trust, Mr. Vinod Purohit, Mr. Ghanshyam Purohit, and Mr. Jagdish Purohit played their role in the program and were accompanied by Bharat, Manish, Sanam, Sangramsingh, and Ashutosh Purohit of the Purohit family. The meeting was successfully conducted by Heena Purohit and RJ Rajesh Purohit.
