On the occasion of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Jayanti, Central Railway honored the enduring legacy of the Maratha warrior king, whose leadership and contributions continue to inspire generations. The event, held at the iconic Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT), saw a gathering of railway officials, staff, and dignitaries paying their respects to the great king.

Dharam Veer Meena, the General Manager of Central Railway, led the tributes by garlanding the bust of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj at the heritage building of CSMT. The historic structure echoed with chants of “Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj ki Jay” as Meena, accompanied by Principal Heads of Departments, Senior Officers, and Central Railway staff, commemorated the birth anniversary of the visionary leader.
In his speech, Meena emphasized the significance of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s contributions to the nation, stating, “Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj is one of the greatest national heroes of India. He laid the foundation of Hindavi Swaraj based on Justice, Morality, and Tolerance. He was a Benevolent, Generous, and Secular King. Renaming this heritage terminus as Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus serves as a tribute to his relentless commitment to safeguarding his people, creating a just and progressive kingdom, and his indomitable spirit of leadership.”

A momentous milestone in the tribute to Shivaji Maharaj came in March 1996, when the historic Victoria Terminus was renamed Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus, acknowledging the king's monumental role in shaping the region's identity. The station was later officially renamed Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) in 2017, further cementing the people's admiration for his leadership
