NCP MLA Sangram Jagtap escapes narrowly as his BMW collides into ST bus on Mumbai Pune Expressway
Mumbai-Pune Expressway is becoming a hub of accidents day by day
Ahmednagar NCP MLA Sangram Jagtap had a narrow escape when his BMC car crashed into State Transport (ST) Bus on the Pune-Mumbai Expressway near Bhatan tunnel early Tuesday morning.
The 36 year old Jagtap was on his way to Mumbai with his driver and two other occupants in the car when around 5.30 am met with an accident.
Raigad District Police Superintendent Ashok Dudhe confirmed the accident and said “The accident involving Jagtap’s car and a bus took place in the early hours of Tuesday. No one is hurt.”
Sangram Jagtap also confirmed the accident and explained the probable reason of the crash “The bus was on the extreme left lane of the Expressway, suddenly swerved the right lane, crossing over the central lane. The bus driver possibly did not see a diversion for ongoing work. The bus hit the front portion of the car at high speed. While the car was badly damaged, none of us were hurt because of seatbelts and airbags.” said the legislator.
According to eyewitness Jagtap’s BMC hit the ST bus from behind and crashed into the rear of the bus. The luxury BMW sedan was badly mangled and smashed beyond repairs but Jagtap and his driver escaped unharmed
