Bhiwandi, August 7, 2026: A textile trader from Bhiwandi has allegedly been cheated of more than Rs 1.62 crore after two Rajasthan-based businessmen failed to pay for consignments of fabric supplied over nearly two years.
Following a complaint, the Nizampura Police have registered a case against the accused under relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and initiated an investigation.
According to the police, the complainant, Tina Parveen Bhansali (45), a resident of Shivam Society on Khadak Road and proprietor of Sambhunath Traders, alleged that the accused purchased textile consignments worth Rs 1,62,68,507 from her firm between December 2022 and August 2024, but failed to clear the outstanding dues despite repeated assurances.
Accused Identified
The accused have been identified as Suresh Chand, a resident of Sitapur, Rajasthan, and proprietor of Rachna International, and Sushil Bhati, a resident of Jaipur, Rajasthan, who runs Sangam Enterprises.
In her complaint, Bhansali stated that both businessmen had established a business relationship with her firm and gradually gained her confidence by placing textile orders.
Believing the transactions to be genuine, she supplied fabric consignments over an extended period. However, after taking delivery of the goods, the accused allegedly defaulted on payment and failed to honour their financial commitments.
The complainant further alleged that despite repeated demands, reminders, and follow-up efforts, the accused neither settled the outstanding amount nor provided any satisfactory explanation, resulting in a substantial financial loss to her business.
