Mumbai: Politics in Maharashtra is experiencing a major change as Uddhav Thackeray and Raj Thackeray come together once again after a lengthy period. A joint rally took place at Worli Dome, Mumbai, highlighting an unexpected partnership between their respective parties, the Uddhav Thackeray faction (UBT) and Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS).
In the midst of this surprising coalition, an individual resembling the deceased Bal Thackeray emerged at the rally, leaving attendees shocked as they tried to grasp his unexpected arrival. Dressed like Balasaheb, wearing a garland and black glasses, he enchanted the audience and became popular, with numerous people wanting to take selfies alongside him.
Uddhav and Raj Thackeray, heads of Shiv Sena (UBT) and Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS), came together after almost 20 years at the 'Aawaz Marathicha' event in Worli on July 5, marking the end of Hindi imposition in Maharashtra. Highlighting Marathi culture, they clarified their venue selection and reiterated reasons beyond political rivalry.
Raj observed that their partnership reflected ambitions for Maharashtra's development, commending Devendra Fadnavis for making their reconnection possible. He confronted the enforcement of the Hindi language, asking why Maharashtra should embrace Hindi when other Hindi-speaking regions are falling behind. He promoted Marathi while recognizing the importance of Hindi, remembering how the Maratha Empire did not enforce its language.
