Shilpa Shetty Walks Lakmé Fashion Week x FDCI 2025 In Wooden Bodice For Mohammed Mazhar
Bollywood actor Shilpa Shetty, the showstopper, walked the ramp in a breathtaking ensemble that left everyone in awe

Day 3 of Lakmé Fashion Week x FDCI 2025 was nothing short of spectacular as designer Mohammed Mazhar took center stage with his latest collection. The showcase was a tribute to the exquisite craftsmanship of Saharanpur, Uttar Pradesh, blending heritage with modernity. Bollywood actor Shilpa Shetty, the showstopper, walked the ramp in a breathtaking ensemble that left everyone in awe.
Shilpa Shetty graced the runway in a mesmerizing white saree adorned with bold black vertical and horizontal lines, creating a striking contrast. The saree, draped impeccably, exuded elegance while offering a contemporary twist.
However, the true showstopper of her look was not just the saree itself but the statement breastplate bodice that she wore over it. The highlight of Mazhar’s collection was the handcrafted wooden breastplate bodice, intricately designed with delicate white floral motifs.
This extraordinary piece showcased not only fashion-forward thinking but also a commitment to reviving traditional craftsmanship. By incorporating Saharanpur’s signature woodwork into high fashion, the designer bridged the gap between heritage artistry and modern power dressing.
During a press conference following the showcase, Shilpa Shetty expressed her admiration for the designer’s vision. “This is a brilliant initiative that not only promotes fashion but also provides livelihood opportunities for skilled artisans from Saharanpur. Working with wood in fashion is no easy task, yet Mohammed Mazhar has created something truly glamorous. His designs redefine power dressing,” she said.
Complementing the look, Shetty wore chunky statement bangles on both wrists, along with a bold upper-arm bracelet that added to the regal aesthetic. Her hair was styled in a sleek updo, allowing the intricate details of the outfit to take center stage.
Mohammed Mazhar’s collection at Lakmé Fashion Week x FDCI 2025 pushed the boundaries of fashion by seamlessly merging tradition with innovation. The structured wooden bodice against the softness of the saree symbolised a fresh take on power dressing - one that is rooted in heritage yet fearless in its approach.
