The 2026 International Booker Prize, which celebrated its 10th anniversary this year, shortlist has officially been unveiled, offering a masterclass in global storytelling and translation. Set in Japanese-occupied Taiwan during the 1930s, Taiwan Travelogue follows Aoyama Chizuko, a Japanese writer, and Ō Chizuru, her Taiwanese interpreter, as they travel across the island documenting its food, culture, and landscapes. The Witch
