Manchester City's Norwegian superstar Erling Haaland has left fans stunned with a dramatic new look ahead of the new season. Known for his signature long, flowing blonde hair, the footballer has decided to chop it all off, unveiling a much shorter, almost near-bald hairstyle that has quickly become the talk of social media.

Haaland documented the major transformation in a video titled ‘New Season, New Hair!!’, giving fans a behind-the-scenes glimpse of the moment his famous locks were finally cut. Before the makeover began, the striker bid an emotional goodbye to his long blonde hair.

“This beautiful blonde hair, time to let it go,” he said, explaining that he had been planning the transformation for some time. Haaland revealed that he initially wanted to cut his hair after the World Cup but could not find the time amid his busy schedule. With a new season now beginning, he decided it was the perfect moment for a fresh start.

However, there was one person whose advice briefly made him reconsider, football legend Zlatan Ibrahimović. According to Haaland, Zlatan had once told him never to cut his hair because “your strength is in your hair,” a comment that added a humorous touch to the major transformation.

The people closest to Haaland, however, seemed to approve of the new look. His partner, Isabel, reportedly found the shorter hairstyle cute, while even Oasis star Noel Gallagher gave the footballer his approval. Speaking to Haaland, Gallagher said that “change is good,” although he jokingly admitted that the new haircut makes the Manchester City striker look more like a 17-year-old.

Meanwhile, the internet has been divided over the footballer's transformation. While some fans loved the fresh and youthful appearance, others were clearly not ready to say goodbye to Haaland's iconic golden mane. One reaction that particularly summed up the mood online read: “We lost a baddie.”
