Sanawad: 50 terminated for protesting against employer

Sanawad (Madhya Pradesh): Sahaj Brother Services has fired all the employees of Pump House No 1, 2, 3 and 4 of Sanawad from July 1. Recently employees of Narmada Malwa Gambhir Link project has raised their voice against the exploitation by the company and as a result, the company has issued a termination notice to around 50 people.

Regarding this, a delegation of aggrieved workers went to the residence of MLA Sachin Birla on Wednesday and pleaded that their jobs be saved. They also submitted a memorandum to the MLA that states Sahaj Brother Services has terminated them from the job when they demanded their rights. Also, the company took 12 hours work from them and deducted their salary even when they took valid leaves.

After hearing out the employees, the MLA sent a letter to the Chief Engineer of the Lower Narmada Project and asked to solve the grievances of aggrieved workers and redress the complaints made by them against the project maintenance company.

The Narmada Valley Development Authority completed the construction work of Narmada Malwa Gambhir Link Project in 2018. In this context, a contract was signed with Navayuga Engineering Company Limited, Indore for the construction of all the four pumps located at Balwara and Kalakund. For their maintenance and operation, Sahaj brother Services was appointed in 2019. Ever since then the company has displayed rude and biased behaviour towards employees.
