Indore (Madhya Pradesh): Over 1000 swadeshi (indigenous) products are being showcased in the Swadeshi Mela, at the Lalbagh Palace ground.
A variety of swadeshi products from across the country are available here. In the evening cultural programmes are also presented.
The 13-day Swadeshi Mela began on April 15 at the campus of Lalbagh palace, an iconic and royal building of Holkar dynasty. The mela is being organised by Swadeshi Jagran Manch and Swarnim Bharatvarsh Foundation of Malwa province. Cottage, rural and small scale industries products are on sale at the mela and in the evening’ cultural programmes like folk dances, dance dramas, songs and music are attracting the common people.

Yogesh Mehta, convener of Swadeshi Mela, informed that every night various types of dance dramas are being staged by the team of Nateshwar Nritya Sansthan of Badwah and Khargone district, under the direction of Sanjay Mahajan.
Excellent and beautiful dance performances of folk dances like Ganesh Vandana, Jai Jai Madhya Pradesh, Mhaaro Nimar, Krishnaleela, Ritushringar, Panihari, Shri Ram Stuti, Gangaur, Ghoomar, Awadh Utsav, Pyara Malwa and Narmada are being performed, which is keeping the audience captivated.
Amardeep Aulakh, mela secretary and Dr Vishal Purohit, Malwa province convenor of Swadeshi Jagran Manch said that the attractions of Swadeshi Mela especially Baba Amarnath Yatra Darshan, Shri Ram Mandir Darshan, Jungle Park, Swadeshi Village and Indori food stalls which have become a centre of attraction for the people.
