Railway employee Shashikant Kashyap, 41, a resident of Shankar Nagar, died on the spot after being buried under the rubble. Upon receiving the information, Kotwali police and Railway Protection Force (RPF) teams rushed to the scene. Railway officials also reached the site and initiated rescue operations.

Indore (Madhya Pradesh): A 41-year-old railway employee died and another was injured after a portion of a dilapidated metre-gauge railway office building collapsed during scrap removal work in the Teen Puliya area under Kotwali police station limits on Friday.
According to officials, scrap removal work had been underway for a long time in the abandoned and weakened railway building. During the process, a section of the structure suddenly gave way due to its fragile condition, trapping workers under the debris.

Upon receiving the information, Kotwali police and Railway Protection Force (RPF) teams rushed to the scene. Railway officials also reached the site and initiated rescue operations.
The debris was cleared with the help of a JCB machine and the injured were pulled out. Kashyap, who worked as a master craftsman in the railway department, was declared dead at the hospital.
Assistant worker Virendra sustained injuries to his hand and was admitted to a private hospital by station master Arvind Saha. Police launched an investigation to determine whether safety norms were followed during the scrap removal work.
