Modular OT Complex In Indore's MY Hospital To Start In February 2025
The facility is designed to accommodate both emergency and elective surgeries, with emergency operations continuing in the existing OTs on the ground floor.

Indore (Madhya Pradesh): Patients in Maharaja Yeshwantrao (MY) Hospital will soon receive advanced surgical care at par with private hospitals, thanks to the newly constructed modular operation theatres (OTs) set to be functional within a month.
The modular OT complex includes eight major and one minor operation theatres, increasing the hospital’s total OT count from 15 to 24, including the burn unit. A department-wise allocation of the new OTs will be decided in an upcoming meeting of MGM Medical College to optimize their utilization. The facility is designed to accommodate both emergency and elective surgeries, with emergency operations continuing in the existing OTs on the ground floor.
“The modular OTs have advanced infrastructure, including metal and glass ceilings, waterproofing to prevent seepage and cutting-edge surgical equipment, some of which has already arrived,” the hospital administration said. Earlier issues, such as leakage and financial disputes between the Project Implementation Unit (PIU) and the medical college have been resolved, paving the way for the OTs to become fully functional.

We conduct over one lakh surgeries annually, with the orthopaedics department performing most of them. The new OTs will expand the facility and reduce waiting time for surgeries, benefiting patients from Indore as well as across the state
