Madhya Pradesh: Hostel Superintendent Held For Sexual Exploitation Of Students In Barwani

Barwani (Madhya Pradesh): Kasturba Gandhi Girls Hostel superintendent has been arrested for her involvement in touching and sexual exploitation of girl students.

Preeti Rathore was taken into custody by the police after her absconding since the incident came to light.

The arrest follows protests by tribal organisations demanding justice for victims. On Tuesday morning, Rathore was apprehended at Barwani district headquarters.

An FIR has already been filed against her under various sections, including Prevention of Atrocities Act, while an investigation into the Block Education Officer (BEO) is underway.

Victim students and tribal organisations had previously met with collector Guncha Sanobar to share their traumatic experiences. The emotional meeting revealed the pain of victims and their families, prompting urgent calls for action.

The tribal organisation expressed frustration over the lack of departmental action and warned of potential protests if swift measures were not taken.

Following collector's assurance of prompt action, Preeti was arrested and she underwent a medical examination and was subsequently presented in court, where she was remanded to jail.
