Indore’s MR-10 To Soon Become Eight-Lane Road With New Railway Overbridge For Smoother Travel
After the new ROB is added, the MR-10 and Super Corridor stretch will have a total of eight lanes.

MR-10 Bridge (At present) |
Indore (Madhya Pradesh): A new four-lane railway overbridge (ROB) will be built alongside the existing Indore bridge on MR-10 to help reduce traffic pressure.
After the new ROB is added, the MR-10 and Super Corridor stretch will have a total of eight lanes.
The railway department has approved the design, and now the Indore Development Authority (IDA) is preparing to issue a tender. The goal is to complete the bridge before the upcoming Simhastha festival.
Tender Process Underway
The tender process for the construction has started. The IDA plans to finish this process during the summer so that building work can begin soon. Toll collection on MR-10 has already ended. With traffic growing fast, the wider bridge will help reduce jams and make travel smoother from Luv Kush Square to Chandragupta Maurya Square.
At present, all vehicles use the current four-lane ROB, causing regular traffic jams. Once the new ROB is built, vehicles will be divided — one bridge for going and one for coming — making travel easier and faster.
IDA had earlier sent the plan to the railway for approval, and the General Arrangement Drawing (GAD) has now been cleared. Since MR-10 is expected to carry the most traffic during Simhastha, the project is being pushed for completion within two years. The estimated cost of the new ROB is ₹60 crore.
Vehicle Numbers Tripled
Earlier, fewer than 10,000 vehicles used MR-10 every day. Now, over 30,000 vehicles pass through daily. The city is expanding quickly towards MR-10, Ujjain Road, and the Super Corridor.
New homes, offices, and industries are coming up in the area, increasing the number of two-wheelers, cars, and heavy vehicles on the road.
