Indore (Madhya Pradesh): A senior journalist was assaulted after he objected to a few miscreants allegedly drinking alcohol inside an anganwadi centre at Pardeshipura on Tuesday night.
The incident occurred when correspondent Sagar Choukse was returning home after work only to find some people consuming alcohol on anganwadi premises.
Choukse advised them not to drink liquor at the facility, but to his surprise they attacked him and even demanded money to buy alcohol. One of the miscreants allegedly tried to attack him with a knife.
Hearing the commotion, people from the neighbourhood rushed to the spot and the miscreants fled the scene.

'We have also detained two of the accused,' he added.
Meanwhile, a delegation of media persons met commissioner of police Santosh Kumar Singh and demanded strict action against the alleged attackers.
Accused would not be spared: CM
CM Mohan Yadav said that the incident has come to his cognisance and the accused would not be spared. 'I am aware of the incident which took place with Sagar Choukse. No accused would be spared,' he told reporters.
