Indore: West Discom to install AMR in 63,000 connections by July end

Indore (Madhya Pradesh): MP West Zone Electricity Distribution Company held a meeting on Tuesday regarding installation of automated meter reading (AMR) of all the 63,000 connections which are above 10 kW by the company by end-July. It aims at reducing the pendency of applications related to electricity sevices.

Amit Tomar, managing director, MP West Zone Electricity Distribution Company, said AMRs for consumers with loads of above 10 kW was very important. In Indore city, 100 per cent smart metering is being done for this category of consumers. AMR meters are being installed in the remaining districts, as well , and stress on metering of all non-domestic connections in the rural areas. Tomar said, “More than 80 per cent of the work has been completed in this direction and a target has been set to complete the rest by month-end.”

Tomar said that targets would also have to be achieved in revenue collection. Notices would be issued to the in-charges of 10 divisions if targets are not fulfilled by end-July. He especially praised Ratlam’s executive engineer Vinay Pratap Singh for collecting the highest revenue among all the divisions.

Chief general manager Rinkesh Kumar Vaish, executive director Manoj Jhanwar, Sanjay Mohse, Gajra Mehta, chief engineer Puneet Dubey, city superintending engineer Manoj Sharma and rural superintending engineer DN Sharma were present.
