The police have registered a case of cheating against an unknown accused for changing the card

Indore (Madhya Pradesh): An unidentified man duped an 80-year-old by swapping his ATM card in an ATM counter and cheated him of Rs 70k in Scheme No 54 under Vijay Nagar Police Station’s jurisdiction.
The accused could not be identified yet, however, CCTV footage of the incident has been recovered. The police have registered a case of cheating against an unknown accused for changing the card inside an ATM and withdrawing money using the card.
According to the police complaint, victim Babulal Yadav, a resident of Scheme No 74 had gone to an ATM on August 6 to withdraw Rs 7k from SBI ATM at Scheme No 54 when a man saw my password and engaged me in conversation, put my ATM in the machine and withdrew my ATM card from the machine.
At an opportune moment, he swapped the victim’s card with a similar-looking one and left the scene with another person before the victim realised the fraud.
Later, the accused withdrew Rs 70k from four different transactions. The police registered a case against the unidentified accused under section 318(4) of the BNS and further investigation is underway.
