Indore (Madhya Pradesh): The son of a BJP leader, who was caught for hitting a crime branch head constable while trying to flee, was produced before the court from where he was sent to the police remand for a day on Sunday. He is being questioned further.
Tukoganj police station in charge Jitendra Singh Yadav informed Free Press that Maaz Khan was arrested while he was fleeing from a car and hit head constable Deepak Thapa after a tip-off was received by the crime branch that Maaz along with a girl was involved in some suspicious activities on Saturday.

After seeing the crime branch team, Khan had tried to flee and also hit the bike of Thapa. However, Thapa escaped unhurt in the incident but the accused had allegedly hit his bike with an intention to kill him.
Yadav said that the information was also received that Maaz was carrying drugs. However, no drugs were recovered from him. He was also booked under the section of assault or use of criminal force to deter a public servant from discharge of his duty.
