Indore: Over 85K Take e-Pledge Against Drug Abuse |
Indore (Madhya Pradesh): In a remarkable show of unity against substance abuse, over 85,000 people in Indore took a collective online e-pledge on Monday to stay away from drugs. The event, part of the ongoing awareness drive titled “Nashe Se Doori, Hai Zaroori”, marked another milestone for Indore Police.
The e-pledge saw participation from students, police officials, institutional employees and citizens, all joining virtually through mobile phones and digital devices in a synchronised pledge session.

The main event was conducted at the office of the Commissioner of Police in Palasia, where Commissioner Santosh Kumar Singh administered the pledge. The Zoom-based collective ceremony was streamed live, connecting thousands across the city in real time.
The campaign’s success was formally recognised on the spot. Apoorva Menon, representative of World Book of Records, London, confirmed that the initiative had set a world record for largest e-pledge taken simultaneously for de-addiction and anti-drug awareness. She said that official certificate would soon be issued to Indore Police after verification process.
Commissioner Singh congratulated all participants and expressed appreciation for their support, stating that the collective action sends a strong message in the fight against drug addiction.
