Indore (Madhya Pradesh): Mayor Pushyamitra Bhargav urged residents to observe 'No Car Day' every Friday and opt for public transport. He appealed to citizens to avoid unnecessary use of car atleast one day a week, and help make the city cleaner, greener, healthier, and more sustainable.

Mayor Bhargav himself took an e-rickshaw ride in the city on Friday to encourage the residents to use public transport.

In the last few years, Indore has emerged as the commercial hub of Madhya Pradesh. With more people shifting to Indore for higher studies and jobs, the number of vehicles has also increased on the road.

Reduction in Petrol and Diesel Consumption

The initiative, spearheaded by Mayor Pushyamitra Bhargav, resulted in a remarkable saving of 1.8 lakh litres of fuel and a reduction of 445.4 metric tonnes of carbon emissions in just one day.
