Indore: Forest Department's Plantation Drive Gains Momentum With Catholic Community's Participation

Indore (Madhya Pradesh): The Forest Department's Plantation Maha Abhiyan received a significant boost as around 150 members of the Catholic community participated in a plantation drive at Kasturba Gram on Sunday. The event is part of the department's efforts to increase green cover and promote environmental conservation in the region.
The department aims to plant 6,84,900 saplings this year and has already planted 4,13,600 saplings. "The participation of the Catholic community is a testament to the growing awareness about environmental conservation," said Pramod Mishra, Divisional Forest Officer. "We appreciate their enthusiasm and commitment to this noble cause."
The Forest Department is providing quality saplings at government rates and offering technical support to ensure their growth. "We are committed to making quality plants available to promote public participation in plantation activities," said Yohan Katara, Sub Divisional Officer. "Our goal is to create a greener and healthier environment for the future generations."
Bishop of Indore Thomas Mathew Kuttimackal emphasized the importance of caring for creation. "We recognize the urgent need to protect our environment," he said. "By participating in this plantation drive, we are contributing to a greener Indore and fulfilling our responsibility towards God's creation."
