Indore Crime Roundup: Death Of 60-Year-Old Man By Bullet Wound Outside Farmhouse, Property Dealer Shoots Self, Dies

Indore (Madhya Pradesh): Police have booked the farmhouse owner under section of culpable homicide not amounting to murder and launched a search for him in the death of an elderly man after being hit by a stray bullet while fetching water from a tap outside a farmhouse on Khandwa Road.

According to DCP (Zone-1) Vinod Kumar Meena, the deceased, Madanlal Yadav (60), a resident of Umrikheda village, was shot near his waist on Saturday evening. He was accompanied by his wife when the incident occurred. Investigation found that farmhouse owner Vivek Singhal and a few others were firing at a cardboard target on the property.

One of the bullets pierced the target and struck Madanlal. His wife, who initially assumed he had collapsed due to a cardiac arrest, discovered bleeding near his waist and immediately informed Singhal. Singhal reportedly transported the injured man to a hospital in his car but fled the scene afterward.

Police recovered five shells from the site and registered a case against Singhal under Section 105 of the BNS. The search for his arrest is underway.

Property dealer shoots self, dies

A 65-year-old property dealer allegedly committed suicide by shooting himself at his residence in Sheetal Nagar area under Vijay Nagar police station limits on Sunday. He is undergoing treatment at a city hospital and remains in critical condition.

According to police, Puranmal Rathore was found with a bullet injury near his temple. A licensed pistol was recovered from the spot. A note found in the room said that Rathore had been suffering from a prolonged ailment and had seen no improvement despite ongoing medication.

Police said the family members rushed him to the hospital after hearing the gunshot. His statement is yet to be recorded. Authorities are also taking statements from his family as part of the investigation.
