Indore (Madhya Pradesh): With the city reeling under continuous rainfall, the Indore Municipal Corporation’s disaster management teams have been actively working to resolve waterlogging issues.

Commissioner Shivam Verma personally visited several rain-affected areas on Saturday to oversee on-ground operations and ensure quick drainage.

Verma inspected key locations across the city, including Nagar Nigam Square, Madhu Milan Square, GPO Square, Azad Nagar, Teen Imli, Pipliyahana, Musakhedi, World Cup Square, the area near Lotus ahead of Agarwal Public School, Ring Road, and Scheme No. 140.

Staying in constant contact with the municipal control room, the commissioner stressed the need for swift responses to complaints. During the inspection, he received a report about severe water accumulation in Scheme No. 140. Upon visiting the site, he found standing water and substandard drainage work.

Dissatisfied with the situation, Verma reprimanded the zonal officer, Dhirendra Bais, for negligence. He then summoned the Orange Disaster Management Team to the spot, and drainage work was carried out without delay.
