‘Cyber-Awareness Caller Tune Won’t Be Hindrance Any More’

Indore (Madhya Pradesh): Union Minister of Communications and Information Technology Jyotiraditya Scindia said people won’t face much inconvenience from cyber-awareness caller tunes on mobile phones.

During Scindia's recent visit to the city, senior BJP leader Sudarshan Gupta pointed out that cyber-awareness caller tunes were delaying call connections and disrupting emergency communication.

Gupta received a call from Union minister on Tuesday morning regarding this. “The minister told me that he raised the issue highlighted by me in a meeting with his department officials,” Gupta said.

The former MLA from Indore-I stated that the minister told officials that he received feedback from people over cyber-awareness caller tunes on mobile phones and that they should look into the matter for convenience of people.

“Scindia informed me that changes will be noticed by the public soon,” Gupta said. 

As part of Centre’s nationwide campaign to combat cyber fraud, a pre-call audio message currently plays before most mobile calls, warning users not to share OTPs, bank details or personal information. While the initiative is widely appreciated for its proactive stance on digital security, many users are reportedly facing operational inconveniences due to the caller tune’s mandatory presence.
