Indore (Madhya Pradesh): The first phase of Chacha Nehru Hospital’s renovation, costing Rs 5 crore, is set to conclude by March 2025 while the second phase, valued at Rs 3 crore is scheduled for completion by June 2025.
Chacha Nehru Hospital is the largest government paediatric facility in the state and it is being revamped under the supervision of collector Asheesh Singh through CSR and public cooperation.
Once completed, the hospital will see its bed capacity doubled from 100 to 200, along with an increase in medical and paramedical staff. State-of-the-art facilities are being introduced to make it a model hospital in Madhya Pradesh.
Collector Singh, MLA Golu Shukla, Sawan Sonkar, Gaurav Randive, and CREDAI representatives, reviewed the renovation progress and directed the officials to get the work completed on time.
MLA Shukla praised the initiative, calling it a monumental effort in patients’ service. He added that the upgraded hospital will provide better facilities and a supportive environment for treating children.
Meanwhile, the administrative officials also outlined 17 other public-supported renovation projects underway in Indore, including crematoriums and facilities related to women, children, and social justice. Thirteen of these projects are nearing completion.
Encouraged by voluntary contributions, additional rural development works have also been initiated.
