9 Labourers From MP Die In Boiler Explosion At Gujarat Firecracker Factory

Dewas (Madhya Pradesh): Nine workers from Dewas district were killed in a devastating boiler explosion that occurred at a firecracker factory in Banaskantha district, Gujarat. All the victims hailed from Sandalpur village in Kathegaon tehsil.

Contractor remains missing

The deceased were identified as Lakhan Bhopa, Sunita Bhopa, Kesharbai Bhopa, Radha Bhopa, Rukma Bhopa, Abhishek Bhopa, Rakesh Bhopa, Lali Bhopa and Kiran Bhopa. The contractor, Pankaj, who was working alongside these labourers, remains missing.

Team leaves for Gujarat, administration in constant contact with Gujarat officials

A team from the revenue and police department, led by naib tehsildar Akhilesh Sharma have left for Gujarat. Dewas district administration is in constant communication with their counterparts in Gujarat to provide all possible help to the families.

Death toll rises to 18, five injured

According to reports, at least eighteen people lost their lives and five others were injured following an explosion at a firecracker warehouse in Banaskantha district, Gujarat, on Tuesday.

The blast triggered a fire and caused the building to collapse, authorities said. The facility was a storage unit for firecrackers and there is currently no evidence to suggest firecrackers were being manufactured at the site.
