2nd Shravan Somvar: Thousands of Devotees Visit Ujjain’s Mahakaleshwar Temple; MP CM Mohan Yadav To Attend Mahakal Sawari
A grand Mahakal procession will be taken out in Ujjain after a traditional pooja inside the temple's main hall. At the temple gate, armed police will give a formal salute to Lord Mahakal.

Ujjain (Madhya Pradesh): India is observing the second ‘Shravan Somwar’ on Monday, with Ujjain’s Mahakaleshwar Temple witnessing a huge footfall from all over the country.
The occasion also coincides with Kamika Ekadashi, adding extra significance to the day. The devotees came in large numbers to seek blessings of Baba Mahakal and bathe in the sacred Kshipra River.
Sources saID over 2 lakh devotees visited Madhya Pradesh’s revered Lord Mahakaleshwar Temple in Ujjain between 2:30 am till noon on July 21.
Many also participated in the special Bhasma Aarti, a unique ritual performed at the temple.
Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya visits Mahakal
Madhya Pradesh's cabinet minister Kailash Vijavargiya offered prayers at Mahakal Temple on 2nd Shravan Somwar.
After offering prayers at the sacred Baba Mahakal Temple, Madhya Pradesh Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya expressed deep spiritual joy. He said, "It is a matter of great joy, and coming here brings bliss, which cannot be described in words. Baba Mahakal is present here... This is the abode of Lord Bholenath himself... Everyone's welfare is ensured here."

As per tradition, a grand procession of Lord Mahakal will take place in Ujjain at 4 in the evening.
In the procession, Baba Mahakal will ride in a palanquin blessing his devotees in the form of Chandramouleshwar, he will ride on an elephant to tour the city.
Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav is also expected to join the procession.
The procession will begin with a traditional pooja inside the temple's main hall. At the temple gate, armed police will give a formal salute to Lord Mahakal.
The procession will pass through Mahakal Chauraha, Gudri Chauraha, Bakshi Bazaar, and Kaharwadi, and reach Ramghat where the idol will be bathed with water from the holy Kshipra River.
The route
It will then move through several important city spots including Ramanujkot, Modh Dharamshala, Kartik Chowk, Khati Ka Mandir, Satyanarayan Mandir, Dhaba Road, Tanki Chauraha, Chatri Chowk, Gopal Mandir, Patni Bazaar, and Gudri Bazaar, before returning to the Mahakaleshwar Temple around 7 pm.
