'Will Be Opportunity To Build Upon Successes Of Our Collaboration': PM Modi Ahead Of Meeting With US President Donald Trump

Ahead of his departure for France and the United States, prime Minister Narendra Modi issued a statement on Monday. Notably, PM Modi departed for a four-day trip to France and the United States, where he will engage in talks with President Emmanuel Macron and President Donald Trump.

Ahead of his departure, the Prime Minister said that he would work with French President Emmanuel Macron and US President Donald Trump to build a better future for the world. PM Modi will be visiting France from 10 to 12 February and then he will depart for the United States for a two-day visit.

PM Modi On France Visit:

"In Paris, I look forward to co-chairing the AI Action Summit, a gathering of the world leaders and global tech CEOs, where we will exchange views on collaborative approach to AI technology for innovation and larger public good in an inclusive, secure and trustworthy manner," The PM said.

"The bilateral segment of my visit will provide an opportunity to review the progress on 2047 Horizon Roadmap for India-France strategic partnership along with my friend President Macron," he added.

PM Modi On the US Visit:

The Prime Minister said that he would be looking forward to meeting his 'friend' President Trump. "Although this will be our first meeting following his historic electoral victory and inauguration in January, I have a very warm recollection of working together in his first term in building a Comprehensive Global Strategic Partnership between India and the US," PM Modi said.

"This visit will be an opportunity to build upon the successes of our collaboration in his first term and develop an agenda to further elevate and deepen our partnership, including in the areas of technology, trade, defence, energy, and supply chain resilience. We will work together for the mutual benefit of the people of our two countries and shape a better future for the world," he added.

PM Modi's Schedule For France And US Visit:

At the invitation of President Macron, PM Narendra Modi will be in France from February 10-12, where he will be co-chairing the AI Action Summit.

President Macron and PM Narendra Modi will also travel to the historic French city of Marseille to inaugurate the first Indian Consulate in France and also visit the International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor project, in which India is a member of the consortium of partner countries including France, to harness energy for the global good.

After his arrival in Paris on Monday evening, he will attend a dinner that is being hosted by President Macron at the Elysee Palace in honour of visiting heads of government and heads of State.

The dinner is also likely to be attended by a large number of CEOs from the tech domain and a number of other distinguished invitees to the summit.

On February 12, the two leaders will visit the war cemetery and there they will pay tribute to the sacrifices made by Indian Soldiers in World War 1.

After concluding the France visit he will depart for the US to meet with President Donald Trump and interact with senior leaders of the US administration.

This will be the first meeting between the two leaders after President Trump assumed office for his second term.

Previously, PM Modi visited the USA in June 2017 and hosted President Trump for a state visit to India in February 2020.
