Muzaffarnagar: Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Rishika Singh grabbed the headlines after her video of massaging the feet of female Kanwariyas in Uttar Pradesh's Muzaffarnagar went viral on social media. Singh is the CO of the Fugana Circle of Muzaffarnagar.

In the viral video, she could be seen helping the female Kanwariyas to relieve their fatigue by massaging their feet. She also reportedly provided medicines to the needy pilgrims during the ongoing Kanwar Yatra 2025.

Notably, the Kanwar Yatra is an annual pilgrimage that is observed by millions of devotees of Lord Shiva in the holy month of Shravan. They fetch holy water from the Ganga. This holy water is then offered to Lord Shiva by the devotees at their native places. Devotees who take part in this auspicious yatra are known as Kanwariyas.

Who Is Rishika Singh?

Singh is currently serving at the post of DSP in the Uttar Pradesh police. She joined the police force through UPPSC. She cleared the UPPSC PCS in the year 2022, in which she got the 80th ranking, reported TV9 Bharatvarsh. Singh appeared for the exam for the first time in 2019. However, she could not clear it. The police officer failed in the interview in 2020.

Even in 2021, she could not clear the interview, reported the media house. However, her parents continued to support her. Singh finally cleared the exam in 2022 by securing the 80th rank.

She spent her childhood in Lucknow. Singh is the only child of her parents. She completed her schooling in Lucknow. The police officer completed higher education in Delhi. She reportedly pursued the BA Honours Commerce from Daulat Ram College of Delhi University.
