Kolkata: Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Wednesday during an administrative meeting at Jalpaiguri in North Bengal urged the state administrative officials to stay vigilant over cross border threats.
“Even though the BSF is deployed at the borders, the police should also be active in the highly sensitive places. The police are forming groups and those who are willing to work should be given a chance to do so. The state shares international borders with Nepal, Bhutan and Bangladesh and is highly sensitive. The police and administration should intensify patrolling,” said Mamata.
The Chief Minister also warned of fake voter’s list and asked the administration to increase scrutiny.
“The communication between north Bengal and other parts of the state should be strengthened and we must start taking preparations for disaster management,” stated the West Bengal Chief Minister.
