Darbhanga: Stone pelting was reported in Bihar's Darbhanga on devotees returning from a temple on Saturday evening. The devotees were returning from A Durga Temple. The situation became tense between the two communities after the stone pelting in the area under the jurisdiction of the Kusheshwar Police Station.

Reports surfaced that a stampede-like situation erupted after the stone pelting. Some women also fell. The video of the incident also surfaced online. In the video, some men and women could be seen pelting stones at the devotees. However, The Free Press Journal cannot verify the authenticity of the video.

The incident took place when devotees were reportedly returning from the temple after installing Kalash ahead of Navratri. Stones were pelted from the house of a man, named Mohammed Azarhuddin, reported Live Hindustan citing local reports.

After receiving the information, police reached the spot and controlled the situation. Some people were reportedly injured in the stone pelting. A heavy police deployment has been made in the area to avoid any untoward incident. A probe has been launched into the matter.

Some reports even claimed that during Holi earlier this month, clashes also erupted between the two communities. Several people were also injured in those clashes.
