Video: BJP MP Aparajita Sarangi Gifts '1984' Bag To Priyanka Gandhi Days After Cong MP Carries Palestine & Bangladesh Bags To LS

Days after Congress MP from Wayanad, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, arrived in Parliament sporting a tote bag with "Palestine" written on it, she was ‘gifted’ a handbag by BJP MP Aparajita Sarangi on Friday with ‘1984’ inscribed on it. Sarangi presented the handbag to her in a bid to point out Congress leaders’ alleged role in the 1984 anti-Sikh riots.

Priyanka Gandhi, one of the newest members of the Lok Sabha, made headlines this week for her choice of tote bags. On Monday, she attended the Lok Sabha carrying a bag with "Palestine" written on it, drawing criticism from BJP leaders. The following day, the Wayanad MP appeared with another bag, this time highlighting the plight of minority communities in Bangladesh.

Days after the incident, BJP MP Aparajita Sarangi gifted Priyanka Gandhi a bag featuring a photo of the 1984 Sikh riots with blood splatters.

In the video, Priyanka Gandhi is seen accepting the bag with a smile on her face from Sarangi who was purportedly trying to point out at Congress leaders' alleged role in the 1984 anti-Sikh riots.

Notably, the Congress party is blamed for the anti-Sikh riots following the assassination of former prime minister Indira Gandhi on October 31, 1984. Thousands of Sikhs were brutally killed in Delhi and other parts of the country in riots.

Earlier today, Priyanka Gandhi defended her brother Rahul Gandhi regarding the FIR filed against him by the BJP after two BJP MPs were allegedly injured during a protest involving both NDA and INDIA MPs over Ambedkar.

"This is a symbol of the government's desperation. It is a false FIR. Rahul Gandhi cannot push anyone—I am his sister, I know this. Frankly, the country knows this too. The country is watching how desperate they have become because they don't want a discussion on Adani. The country will not tolerate the insult of Ambedkar ji," she said.
