Uttar Pradesh News: Nationwide Groups Join Mahapanchayat In Lucknow To Protest Power Privatization
Avdhesh, President of the Consumer Council, emphatically stated that electricity privatization would not be allowed under any circumstances. Furthermore, Shailendra Dubey, Convener of the Sangharsh Samiti, warned that a "Jail Bharo" movement would be launched immediately if the privatization tender is issued.

Lucknow: A major "Mahapanchayat" of electricity employees and various organizations was held today in Lucknow to protest the proposed privatization of the power sector. The event, held at Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar Auditorium in Aashiana, saw participation from prominent trade
unions, bank employee organizations, farmer
groups, and consumer forums from across the country.
Key speakers included Shiv Gopal Mishra, General Secretary of the All India Railwaymen's Federation; Dr. Darshan Pal, National President of Sanyukt Kisan Morcha; and Y.S. Lohit, Senior Advocate of the Supreme Court.
