Uttar Pradesh News: CM Yogi Adityanath Launches Statewide River Revival Initiative With 35 Crore Saplings Plantation At Ayodhya
At the 13th Saryu Jayanti Mahotsav held in Ayodhya, the Chief Minister announced a statewide initiative directing every district to revive at least one river. The plan includes a ban on sewage, drain discharge, and animal waste into water bodies. A plantation of 35 crore saplings will be undertaken along riverbanks to promote ecological balance.

Ayodhya: At the 13th Saryu Jayanti Mahotsav held in Ayodhya, the Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath announced a statewide initiative directing every district to revive at least one river. The plan includes a ban on sewage, drain discharge, and animal waste into water bodies. A plantation of 35 crore saplings will be undertaken along riverbanks to promote ecological balance.
Speaking at the Anjaneya Seva Sansthan, the CM emphasized rivers as the lifelines of the earth, vital for sustaining the environment, biodiversity, and agriculture. He highlighted that protecting rivers also safeguards communities from climate-related disasters. CM also reiterated the environmental and agricultural value of rivers like the Ganga and Saryu, calling for collective responsibility in their conservation.
Ayodhya’s transformation was also noted, with the CM listing completed projects including multi-lane roads, water ATMs, and an international airport. Declared India’s first solar city. With all this achievement sweeping under the rug cost that it took to reach there.
The Chief Minister further elaborated on the economic benefits of river rejuvenation, stating that clean rivers would not only support agriculture and biodiversity but also boost tourism and local economies.
