UP News: Akhilesh Yadav Slams Chitrakoot River Cleanup As 'Publicity Stunt'; Minister Stresses Public Role In Conservation

Opposition leader Akhilesh Yadav criticized the event through social media, calling it a "publicity stunt" ahead of upcoming elections. Meanwhile, the Water Resources Minister emphasized the necessity of public participation in river conservation efforts during his address.  

Simultaneously, 80% of tap water connections under the 'Har Ghar Nal' scheme have reportedly been completed in the Chitrakoot Dham region. The ministers also paid floral tributes to mark Ahilya Bai Holkar's 300th birth anniversary during the visit.  

Medical teams remained on standby throughout the event, which saw heightened security along the riverbanks. Environmentalists have raised concerns about the temporary nature of such drives without implementing long-term waste management solutions for the polluted river.
