UP: Drunk Cop With Rifle Stumbles Along On Busy Road In Bijnor; Faces Action After Video Goes Viral

A police personnel was caught on camera staggering drunk on the streets of Bijnor while in uniform and carrying a rifle. The incident, which reportedly took place at Jaji Chowk in Bijnor Kotwali city area, has sparked outrage after video footage went viral on social media.

In the widely-shared video, the inebriated cop can be seen stumbling on the road wearing slippers on his feet while carrying his service rifle. A man wearing uniform of traffic police and another man in khaki uniform are visible in the footage helping the intoxicated constable off the road and guiding him to the side.

The embarrassing incident shows the man in uniform clearly under the influence of alcohol while on duty, raising serious concerns about police discipline and public safety.

The Bijnor Police Department has taken congnisance of the viral video. Responding to the video of incident on X, Bijnor Police stated that suspension proceedings have been initiated against the constable seen in the video.
