Samajwadi Party Chief Akhilesh Yadav Says 'New Movement' Against BJP’s 'Negative Politics' To Begin From August 15

Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav on Friday, August 7, launched a sharp attack on the BJP and its allies, alleging that they are attempting to avoid public anger and the backlash from the younger generation by changing their political stance.

In a post shared on his official handle on X, Yadav claimed that the BJP’s allies were now acting as “shields of discourse” to protect themselves from criticism.

“To avoid the wrath of Gen Z and the public, the allies are now turning into ‘shields of discourse’,” Yadav said, alleging that while one ally was targeting a Gen Z figure, another was attempting to protect itself through praise.

The SP chief said the allies had realised that the “educated new generation” could not be used as a political ladder to gain power.

Yadav further claimed that differences had emerged between the ideas of two senior leaders during what he described as the “centennial year”, suggesting that political allies were now trying to safeguard their own interests amid growing pressure.

“Rest assured that everyone, out of fear, is now scrambling to save themselves,” he said.

Yadav alleged that the tenure of these “self-serving allies” had come to an end and described the centennial year as a “year of conclusion”.

He also accused those he termed “negative individuals” of dividing the country, society and brotherhood, claiming that they were now turning against each other and heading towards their “complete downfall”.

“The time has come for these allies to go underground forever,” Yadav said.

The SP chief concluded by announcing that a “new movement” against what he called the BJP’s “negative politics” would begin from August 15.

His remarks come amid heightened political exchanges between opposition parties and the BJP-led alliance, with the role of younger voters and Gen Z increasingly featuring in political discourse.
