Alwar: A shocking incident has come to light from Rajasthan's Alwar. A newlywed bride reportedly poisoned her mother-in-law and absconded with jewellery and cash just a month after her wedding. The accused woman has been identified as Rekha Kaur, reported India Today.
According to the complaint, 32-year-old Vikramjeet Singh married Rekha Kaur on 26 May 2025 in a gurdwara ceremony after being introduced through her aunt, Pinki Kaur.
The marriage followed a court-backed live-in agreement signed on 9 May, based on assurances that Rekha was legally divorced from her first husband.
However, a probe later revealed that Rekha was still married to her first husband and had two children. Soon after her marriage to Vikramjeet, her behaviour suddenly changed.
On 23 June 2025, she reportedly mixed phenyl into a khichdi meal served to her mother-in-law. She was rushed to hospital. It was then that Rekha allegedly took jewellery worth several lakh rupees, including gold and silver necklaces, bangles, and rings, along with Rs 30,000 in cash and fled the house.
The probe revealed that Rekha, along with her aunt Pinki Kaur from Sirsa in Haryana, had allegedly trapped multiple young men in a similar manner.

Subsequently, he petitioned the court to pursue justice against the duo. Further probe in the matter is underway. The probe is ongoing, and police have indicated that action will be taken against the accused after the court process.
