'Beneficial For Long Time': PM Modi On India-Brazil Partnership In Joint Press Briefing With President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday said the India-Brazil partnership is “beneficial for a long time” as he held talks with Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva in New Delhi. The leaders reviewed cooperation across sectors and reaffirmed future goals. Lula called it a meeting of “superlatives,” highlighting digital and renewable energy strengths.

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday described the India-Brazil partnership as “beneficial for a long time,” as he and Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva held wide-ranging talks and addressed a joint press briefing in New Delhi.
PM Modi said the two countries had reviewed cooperation across sectors and reaffirmed their shared vision for the future. “In the discussions we had today, we spoke about our shared purpose and experience in every sector,” he said while addressing the joint press conference.
Addressing the press briefing, the Brazilian president said, “The meeting between India and Brazil is a meeting of superlatives,” he said. “We are not just the two biggest democracies of the Global South. This is a meeting of a digital superpower with a renewable energy superpower,” he said.

The Brazilian president is accompanied by a huge delegation that includes top CEOs of leading Brazilian companies, many of whom are expected to take part in a Business Forum aimed at exploring fresh investment and partnership opportunities.
Lula’s visit to India comes after PM Modi’s Brazil visit in July 2025, the first by an Indian prime minister in more than five decades, marking a renewed push to elevate bilateral relations.
