NHRC-ITEC Program For Global South NHRIs Concludes; Justice V Ramasubramanian Delivers Valedictory Address
The program, which commenced on Monday, saw the participation of 35 senior functionaries from 11 NHRIs across the Global South. Attendees were exposed to various aspects of governance and human rights through interactive sessions led by eminent speakers.

The NHRC, India, in collaboration with the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), successfully concluded the International Technical and Economic Cooperation (ITEC) Capacity Building Programme (CBP) for National Human Rights Institutions (NHRIs) of the Global South today. NHRC Chairperson Justice V Ramasubramanian delivered the valedictory addressin the presence of NHRC Members Justice (Dr) Bidyut Ranjan Sarangi and Smt Vijaya Bharathi Sayani, along with Secretary General Bharat Lal.
The program, which commenced on Monday, saw the participation of 35 senior functionaries from 11 NHRIs across the Global South. Attendees were exposed to various aspects of governance and human rights through interactive sessions led by eminent speakers.
Distinguished speakers included NHRC Chairperson, Members, and Secretary General, along with key figures such as NITI Aayog Member V. K. Paul, former Chief Election Commissioner Rajeev Kumar, NITI Aayog Mission Director Yugal Kishore Joshi, former Indian Ambassador to the UN Asoke Kumar Mukerji, and former NHRC DG(I) Manoj Yadava.
Other notable speakers were Chris Garroway, Economist and Development Coordinator at the United Nations, as well as NHRC officials Surajit Dey, Anita Sinha, and D.K. Nim, former Registrar (Law) and Joint Secretaries of NHRC. Participants also shared their experiences, highlighting the impact of the program.
