Raipur: Three female bodies, identified as members of the CPI (Maoist) guerrilla squad, were recovered following an encounter at the tri-junction of the Chhattisgarh-Telangana-Maharashtra border on Thursday. Sources suggest the death toll may rise as joint security forces continue to surround the so-called "safe zone" of the banned CPI (Maoist) outfit. Intermittent gunfire was reported, according to local sources.
From Chhattisgarh, a joint team comprising DRG, COBRA, STF, CRPF, and Bastar Fighters is engaged in the operation. Meanwhile, Telangana's Greyhound Forces and Maharashtra's C60 Forces have encircled the hills of Karregatta, Nadpalli, and Pujari Kanker.
The operation was launched based on concrete intelligence regarding the presence of top Naxal commanders, including Hidma, Damodar, and Deva, along with their armed cadres. Reports indicated the presence of over 300 Naxalites in the area, prompting interstate action starting April 22.
