Mewar Royal Descendant Arvind Singh Mewar Passes Away At 81 In Udaipur
The 81-year-old member of the erstwhile royal family of Mewar is survived by his wife Vijayraj Kumari, son Lakshyaraj Singh Mewar, and daughters Bhargavi Kumari Mewar and Padmaja Kumari Parmar.

Descendant of the legendary Rajput king Maharana Pratap, Arvind Singh Mewar passed away on Sunday at Udaipur City Palace after a prolonged illness. He was the 76th custodian of the House of Mewar.
The 81-year-old member of the erstwhile royal family of Mewar is survived by his wife Vijayraj Kumari, son Lakshyaraj Singh Mewar, and daughters Bhargavi Kumari Mewar and Padmaja Kumari Parmar. His last rites are set to take place in Udaipur on Monday.
Arvind Singh Mewar was the youngest son of Bhagwant Singh Mewar and Sushila Kumar. His elder brother, Mahendra Singh Mewar, passed away in November last year.
Educated at Ajmer’s prestigious Mayo College, Arvind Singh Mewar played a significant role in preserving the heritage and culture of Udaipur. He upgraded the services at palace-hotels and sanctuary-resorts, making Mewar's royal heritage more accessible and relevant to visitors. He is also credited with popularizing Udaipur as a global destination for weddings, attracting celebrities from around the world.
Furthermore, he served as the Chairman and Managing Trustee of the Maharana Mewar Charitable Foundation (MMCF) and was the Chairman of HRH Group of Hotels.

In addition to his contributions to tourism and heritage conservation, Mewar was also a talented cricketer. He made his Ranji Trophy debut in December 1961 against Vidarbha and had an active cricketing career throughout the 1960s and 1970s.
Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma, former CMs Vasundhara Raje and Ashok Gehlot, along with several other leaders, have paid homage to Arvind Singh Mewar.
