Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha and Congress MP Rahul Gandhi left Chhatrasal Stadium on Tuesday shortly after several Opposition leaders, who had been detained by the Delhi Police while protesting outside PM Modi's 7 Lok Kalyan Marg residence, were brought to the venue. The leaders had been taken into custody while participating in the demonstration and were shifted to the stadium, where Rahul Gandhi was present before departing.

Sonam Wangchuk Shifted To Medanta After Delhi HC Nod
Sonam Wangchuk had been admitted to Safdarjung Hospital after being shifted from the Jantar Mantar protest site, was taken to Medanta in an ambulance following the court's order. Earlier in the day, a division bench of the Delhi High Court had allowed his transfer after hearing a plea filed by his wife, Dr Gitanjali Angmo, challenging a single-judge order that had earlier refused the request.

Cockroach Janta Party Removes spokesperson Vijeta Dahiya from all duties

Gitanjali Angmo, wife of Sonam Wangchuk, thanked Delhi High Court for passing an order in their favour and letting her husband seek medical treatment in the hospital of their choice.
The Delhi High Court said Tuesday it would allow Sonam Wangchuk to be moved from the state-run Safdarjung Hospital to Medanta, a private facility.

Delhi HC Allows Sonam Wangchuk's Shift To Medanta

Delhi Police issue reminder for Section 163
The Delhi Police announced that Section 163 is still in place and people should not crowd around the site.
What is Section 163?
Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS) is the new legal provision that replaced the erstwhile Section 144 of the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC). It empowers an Executive Magistrate to issue urgent, temporary orders to maintain public order, prevent unrest, and address situations that pose a threat to public safety.
The provision allows authorities to prohibit unlawful assemblies of five or more people, restrict public gatherings, regulate processions, and control the use of loudspeakers or other activities that could disturb public peace. Such orders are generally imposed for up to 60 days, although they can be extended if the situation warrants.
Authorities typically invoke Section 163 during periods of heightened tension, including protests, communal unrest, or situations where there is a risk of violence or disruption to law and order. The objective is to prevent escalation and ensure public safety.
Why Is Section 163 Being Discussed?
The provision has recently come into focus after it was imposed in parts of New Delhi amid protests. With restrictions in place, police can prevent unauthorised demonstrations, disperse unlawful gatherings, and take action against those found violating the prohibitory orders.
Section 163 Has Different Meanings In Other Laws
While Section 163 of the BNSS deals with public order, the same section number appears in other Indian laws but serves entirely different purposes.
Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) prescribes punishment for abetting desertion from the armed forces.
Although these provisions share the same section number, they relate to different laws and should not be confused with Section 163 of the BNSS, which is specifically aimed at maintaining public order and preventing situations that could threaten peace and security.

Not Far From The Madding Crowd
It is a humid day in Delhi today, with light showers as the forecast predicts. However, given the political heat that lies ahead, it is unlikely anyone will really bother about the weather in Jantar Mantar or all the way from the protest venue to the Parliament. For now, it seems neither side is backing out — whether the satirical platform Cockroach Janta Party or the government — much like the US-Iran war where peace is just shredded to pieces despite talks.
Protesters have already assembled at Jantar Mantar and they look determined to resume their march towards Parliament today. They seem to have the resolve of Spain to score a victory, but the security personnel deployed are striving to leave no holes in their defence.
On Monday, over 100 cops and over 60 protesters were injured after police used lathicharge and teargas shells to disperse crowds. Today, the fate of the bones and blood of either side is not known yet. It all depends on how wildly the baton will swing or if an aimless stone might find a skull to smash.
Just to give a background on why all this is happening: it is because of the leaked NEET-UG paper that shook the very sanctity of those critical entrance exams.
Yesterday, a CJP team met Union Minister JP Nadda and put forth three demands — the release of Sonam Wangchuk with no restriction on his movement, the resignation of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, and Rs1 crore compensation for all NEET aspirants who died by suicide following the NEET paper leaks.
There were talks, but this tunnel of protests is yet to see the light of peace. On Tuesday morning, Pradhan bowed to the Guru on X. "The foundation of meditation is the Guru's image, the foundation of worship is the Guru's feet, the foundation of mantra is the Guru's words, and the foundation of liberation is the Guru's grace," he tweeted. The minister indeed urgently needs all the blessings of Lord Jagannath as his rath is on a yatra of chaos.
