Karnataka Shocker: Husband Bites Off Wife's Nose During Quarrel Over Load Repayment

In a shocking incident, a man bit off his wife's nose during a quarrel over repaying a loan in Karnataka's Davanagere. The woman received treatment at a hospital after the incident.

According to reports, Vijay, the husband of the victim, was upset with his wife Vidya after she failed to repay a loan she had taken for which he had given surety. Due to non-payment of the loan, the lender started harassing the couple. This led to the quarrel between the husband and wife.

The couple hail from Mantaraghatta village in Channagiri taluk of Davanagere district.

The incident reportedly took place on Tuesday, when the victim fell to the ground during a scuffle before Vijay bit her nose tip.

Hearing Vidya's cry, neighbours rushed to the scene. Later, she was taken to Meggan Hospital in Shivamogga, from where she was shifted to a private hospital for advanced care.

After receiving treatment at the hospital, her condition is stable now.

Based on Vidya's complaint, police have filed an FIR against Vijay for assault and have launched an investigation into the matter.

Earlier, the case was registered with Jayanagar Police Station in Shivamogga. However, based on territorial jurisdiction, the case was transferred to the Channagiri Police Station in Davanagere district.
