Hyderabad: Female Techie Dies By Suicide Within 6 Months Of Marriage, Family Claims Harassment By Husband

Hyderabad: Just six months after her wedding, a 35-year-old software engineer died by suicide in Hyderabad's Raidurgam, according to reports from Telangana Today.

Devika committed suicide at her Hyderabad home on Sunday night. Her husband Satish, also a techie, informed the police and Devika's family that she hanged herself.

According to Satish, Devika hanged herself from the ceiling fan in the bedroom when Satish was asleep in the living room. She was found dead by him later.

Satish and Devika had a love marriage in August 2024 in Goa. The couple moved into an apartment in Raidurgam. However, the duo has reportedly been having frequent fights over frivolous matters for the past few months, according to the police. 

According to the police, there was no suicide note at the crime spot. The case was filed after the family members filed a complaint alleging dowry harassment.

Devika’s parents have claimed that their daughter was harassed by her husband, which compelled her to commit suicide.

Devika's mother Ramadevi in her police complaint has stated that Satish used to harass and torture her both mentally and physically for money.

Devika’s family members also questioned how Satish could not know about something happening in the adjacent room of the same house.
