Hathras Tragedy: 'Stampede Caused By Anti-Social Elements', Bhole Baba Cries Conspiracy; Issues Statement Through Lawyer

Bhole Baba, who is under scrutiny after a stampede at his Hathras 'satsang' (religious gathering) caused the death of 121 people, mainly women and children, broke his silence on Wednesday and alleged that the stampede was a result of a "conspiracy".

The lawyer reportedly issued a statement via a letter through his lawyer and alleged that he had left the venue a long time ago and that the stampede was orchestrated by "anti-social" elements.

The letter read, "To whom so ever it may concern. I/ We, Express our deepest condolence, to the families of the deceased and pray to Prabhu / Parmatma for the Speedy recovery of the injured.

I/ we also authorised Dr. A P Singh Ji, Senior Advocate, Supreme Court (Mo. No. 9810368152) to take further legal action in regard of stamped create by some anti social elements after over of Samagam/Satsang I left for the Samagam a long time ago on 02-07-2024 at Vill. Fulari, Sikandrarau, Hathras, U.P.

However, the Baba remains missing and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday ordered a judicial probe into the matter. Details have emerged of how several protocols were flouted at the gathering in Hathras. Yogi Adityanath also pointed out during his press conference that the stampede could have been a result of a conspiracy and also ordered the authorities to identify and take strict action against those who were responsible for the incident.
