'Hair Pulled, Punched, Slapped': UP Temple Priest Brutally Thrashed By Devotees For Taking Two 'Extra' Laddoos From Prasad In Fatehpur (VIDEO)

Fatehpur: A shocking incident has come to light from Uttar Pradesh's Fatehpur. CCTV footage showing devotees thrashing a temple priest within the temple premises has surfaced. According to the footage, the incident occurred on 15th June at around 8:30 a.m, when the priest was offering Prasad.

During this time, a devotee reportedly became angry with the priest for taking two extra laddoos from the prasad. The verbal altercation soon escalated and turned violent. The devotees attacked him and did not even allow the priest to speak.

The 65-second clip shows the priest being held by one man while he is being thrashed by another. Some women can be seen trying to intervene and stop the men from attacking the priest, but their efforts were in vain.

Police Action

Fatehpur police has reacted to the viral video on micro-blogging website X."In this case, on the basis of written information received at the Khaga police station, the necessary legal action is being taken as per rules by registering a case under the relevant sections," police said on X.
