Jhansi: A shocking video of an accident has surfaced on the internet from Uttar Pradesh's Jhansi. The incident occurred while the devotees were celebrating by participating in the goddess Durga idol immersion procession on Tuesday (October 24). Many people were injured after the vehicle on which the DJ system with loudspeakers was loaded suddenly came in the reverse direction. The devotees were following the vehicle that came in the reverse direction.

It can be seen in the video that hundreds of devotees are following the DJ vehicle while on their way for Durga idol immersion in Jhansi's town of Poonch Police Station area. The procession reached a place that was steep and the driver lost control of the vehicle after which the vehicle came in the reverse direction resulting in the injury of the devotees who were behind the vehicle.

The driver accidentally put the vehicle in the reverse gear

There are reports that the driver accidentally put the vehicle in the reverse gear after which the accident occurred. No casualties have been reported in the incident. Around half dozen devotees are injured after the driver lost control of the vehicle and came in the reverse direction. The incident has not been reported in the police station and the police has not taken action against the culprit.

The auspicious turned sad due to the accident

The auspicious and happy occasion of the day of Durga idol immersion turned sad in Poonch due to the accident. Luckily, no one was killed in the horrific accident that occurred. A few people were injured and were taken to a nearby hospital. There are reports that the injured are receiving treatment at the hospital. The government should take necessary precautions to avoid such accidents during the time festivals.
